Location: Columbiana, AL (Two positions available)


  • Mat Leave SLP: February 12, 2024 - May 24, 2024 (ASAP start)
  • Missed Services SLP: ASAP through summer (negotiable end date)


  • Mat Leave SLP: 40 hours/week
  • Missed Services SLP: Negotiable hours per week


Mat Leave SLP:

  • Montevallo Elementary School
  • K-5 grade levels
  • Various speech/language needs (approximately 40 students)
  • Requires Alabama SLP License
  • Not open to SLPA or CF: School does not have onsite supervision.

Missed Services SLP:

  • Multiple preschool locations
  • Pre-K grade level
  • Approximately 20 students needing make-up speech/language services
  • Requires Alabama SLP License
  • Not open to SLPA or CF: School does not have onsite supervision.

Shelby County School District is seeking two dedicated and enthusiastic SLPs to join our team! We have openings for both a maternity leave replacement and a missed services position, offering unique opportunities to make a difference in the lives of children.

As the Mat Leave SLP, you will provide speech-language services to students at Montevallo Elementary, collaborating with teachers and families to ensure their success.

As the Missed Services SLP, you will work flexible hours across multiple preschool locations, addressing the needs of students who missed essential therapy sessions.

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Alabama State Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with children in a school setting preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills and experience with a variety of speech-language disorders.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive and enthusiastic demeanor.
