Job Title: School-Based Physical Therapist (Contracted Position)
Location: Detroit, MI
Pay Range: $35 - $50 per hour
Employment Type: Contract
School Year: Positions available for this current school year, 2024 - 2025, and next school year, 2025 - 2026.

We are actively seeking experienced and motivated School-Based Physical Therapists for the 2024-2025 school year and the 2025-2026 school year. This is a contracted position with competitive hourly pay and a comprehensive benefits package. Position Overview:

As a School-Based Physical Therapist, you will provide therapy services to students to help improve their motor development, mobility, and access to the educational environment. You will work closely with educators, parents, and other school professionals to support students with physical challenges and help them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess students’ physical abilities and develop individualized therapy plans.
  • Implement treatment plans that enhance mobility, coordination, and gross motor development.
  • Provide direct therapy services in individual and group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to create accommodations and interventions that support student participation.
  • Document assessments, therapy progress, and IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations for therapy goals and accommodations.
  • Educate and train school staff and families on techniques to support students’ physical development.
  • Modify classroom environments to optimize student access and mobility.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to enhance student progress and success.
  • Stay updated on the latest research and trends in school-based physical therapy.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Valid state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of practice.
  • Experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of gross motor development, assistive technology, and adaptive equipment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload.
