As an APE Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that students with diverse abilities have access to quality physical education. Your expertise in adapting physical activities and your commitment to promoting overall well-being will contribute to the success of our students.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement adapted physical education programs tailored to individual student needs
- Conduct assessments to determine students' physical abilities and limitations
- Collaborate with IEP teams to develop and monitor individualized goals and objectives
- Provide instruction and support to students with disabilities, ensuring their active participation in physical activities
- Promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere in the gymnasium and during physical education classes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field (Master's preferred)
- California teaching credential in Adapted Physical Education
- Experience working with students with disabilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Dedication to fostering physical fitness and well-being in all students
