Position Overview: As an SLP in Adrian, MI, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students by providing high-quality speech and language services within a supportive educational environment. You will work collaboratively with students, families, and educational staff to assess, diagnose, and treat communication disorders, helping students achieve their full potential academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech, language, and communication abilities
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' speech and language goals and objectives
  • Provide direct therapy services to students with a variety of communication disorders, including articulation, phonology, language, fluency, and pragmatics
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate speech and language goals into students' educational plans and classroom activities
  • Monitor students' progress and adjust therapy interventions as needed to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Provide consultation and training to educational staff and parents on strategies to support students' speech and language development in the classroom and home environment
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessment results, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information in compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, individualized education program (IEP) meetings, and other collaborative efforts to support students' academic and social-emotional success

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Valid certification or licensure as an SLP in the state of Michigan
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Minimum of one year of experience working as an SLP in a school or educational setting
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing special education and the provision of speech and language services in schools
  • Strong assessment, intervention, and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
  • Commitment to cultural competence, equity, and inclusion in serving students from diverse backgrounds
