Position Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA. In this role, you will work directly with students who have diverse learning needs, providing them with the individualized support necessary to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. You will be instrumental in creating an inclusive and nurturing environment that helps every student reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement IEPs: Collaborate with parents, support staff, and educational specialists to create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
- Create an Inclusive Classroom: Design and maintain a positive, safe, and welcoming classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with general education teachers, counselors, administrators, and parents to ensure holistic support for students.
- Support Social-Emotional Development: Implement strategies to help students build emotional resilience, manage behaviors, and stay engaged with their learning.
- Engage in Professional Development: Continuously improve your teaching practices by participating in professional development and staying informed on trends and best practices in special education.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualifications:
- Special Education Certification in Louisiana (or eligibility to obtain one)
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Special Education
- Experience:
- Experience working with students with special needs is preferred but not required
- Skills & Attributes:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Organizational ability and attention to detail
- Passion for creating inclusive learning environments and ensuring student success
