BlazerJobs is seeking a dedicated Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for a school-based position in Hackensack, NJ. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting students with behavioral and developmental needs, creating individualized behavior plans, and working collaboratively with school staff. Position Details:
- Location: Hackensack, NJ
- Position Type: Full-Time, Contract
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: End of the 2024/2025 School Year
- Hours: Monday through Friday, Full-Time (typically 35-40 hours per week)
- Student Population: Elementary and Middle School
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct behavior assessments for students and develop individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to implement and monitor the success of BIPs.
- Train and supervise staff and paraprofessionals in behavior management techniques and interventions.
- Provide direct 1:1 and small group support to students exhibiting challenging behaviors.
- Collect and analyze data related to behavior changes and student progress.
- Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to understand the root causes of behaviors.
- Develop and monitor reinforcement systems to encourage positive behaviors.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team discussions on student goals.
- Provide professional development to staff members on behavior management techniques and best practices.
- Document and report progress and outcomes related to students’ behavior plans and goals.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification (required)
- Experience working in a school-based setting or with students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other developmental disabilities
- Strong understanding of behavioral therapy methods and techniques (e.g., ABA, BIP, FBA)
- Experience working with K-8 students in educational settings
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
