We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Aide to join our team in providing individualized support to students with behavioral needs. As a Behavior Aide, you will play a crucial role in implementing behavior intervention plans, fostering positive behavior, and creating a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with behavioral challenges, implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as outlined by the lead teacher, behavior specialist, or other designated personnel
- Observe and document student behavior, identifying patterns and triggers, and recording data to track progress and inform intervention strategies
- Collaborate with the lead teacher, behavior specialist, and other team members to develop and implement individualized behavior support plans
- Facilitate positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) strategies, promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Assist with classroom management tasks, including providing redirection, de-escalating conflict, and enforcing classroom rules
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and adhere to all ethical guidelines and professional standards
- Attend regular team meetings, participate in professional development opportunities, and stay up-to-date on current behavior intervention techniques
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral needs, preferably in an educational setting
- Basic understanding of child development and behavioral principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, following instructions and showing flexibility in adapting to changing situations
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Commitment to providing positive and supportive interactions with students
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with students with disabilities or special needs
- Familiarity with positive behavior intervention and support (PBIS) frameworks and strategies
- Training or certification in behavior intervention techniques, such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
