Position Overview:

What You’ll Do:

  • Personalized Learning Plans: Create, implement, and manage Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that meet the diverse needs of students, collaborating with families, specialists, and school staff to ensure the best outcomes.
  • Foster an Inclusive Environment: Build and maintain a welcoming, safe, and structured classroom where every student feels valued and motivated to participate in their learning.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with general education teachers, parents, counselors, and other school staff to ensure a team-based approach to supporting students’ educational and emotional needs.
  • Support Behavioral and Emotional Growth: Utilize evidence-based practices to help students manage behaviors, develop social skills, and stay focused on their academic progress.
  • Commit to Professional Growth: Stay current with best practices in special education through ongoing professional development opportunities, ensuring your teaching practices evolve with new trends.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualifications:
    • Valid Special Education Certification in Colorado (or eligibility to obtain one)
    • Degree in Special Education (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate)
  • Experience:
    • While experience with students with special needs is preferred, it’s not required. A passion for making a difference is key.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues
    • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and individualized plans
    • A commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive environment for all learners
