Blazer Jobs is excited to announce a full-time contract opportunity for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a school-based setting in Pickerington, OH. We are looking for an experienced professional dedicated to supporting students with special needs and contributing to their educational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Occupational Therapy Sessions: Implement and facilitate therapy sessions as directed by Occupational Therapists, focusing on enhancing students' daily living skills and classroom participation.
- Customize Therapy Interventions: Develop and adapt therapy activities to address individual students' needs, ensuring that interventions are effective and engaging.
- Monitor and Record Progress: Accurately document student progress, behavior, and responses to therapy. Provide regular updates and detailed reports to Occupational Therapists and school staff.
- Collaborate with Educational Staff: Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into students' individualized education plans (IEPs) and daily classroom routines.
- Support and Educate Families: Offer guidance and support to families regarding therapy goals and strategies to reinforce progress at home.
Qualifications:
- Must meet all local and state regulatory requirements for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants.
- Prior experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
