About the Position:
We are partnered with the district to place a Certified Orientation Mobility Specialist for the 2023 – 2024 school year. The COMS would serve part-time across seven school campuses in Crosby, Texas. The ideal COMS is a kind, compassionate and patient educator, detail oriented and a natural communicator, able to break down complex instructions. You will positively impact the lives of vision-impaired students by providing evidence-based life skills instruction. 

Position Details:

• Location: Crosby, Texas
• Contract position
• Contract term: August 1, 2023 – May 31, 2024
• Part-Time: 2 -3 hours per week
  • Freedom to personalize the schedule 
• Caseload < 10

Requirements:

• Must hold a master’s level degree in Orientation Mobility
• Must hold a current Texas state OMS license
• 2+ years experience working with children and adolescence 
• 2+ years experience as a certified orientation and mobility specialist
• Ability to asses needs and create individual learning plans based on findings
