Columbus, OH - Special Education Teacher (2024-2025 School Year)

Position Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Columbus, OH. Core Responsibilities:

• Design and Implement IEPs:
  Create and manage Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that cater to each student's unique needs, collaborating with families, staff, and specialists to ensure the best educational outcomes.

• Foster an Inclusive and Supportive Environment:
  Build a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel valued, supported, and encouraged to engage with their learning.

• Collaboration Across Teams:
  Work closely with general education teachers, administrators, counselors, and families to provide well-rounded support to students and to track their academic and behavioral progress.

• Support Behavioral and Emotional Development:
  Implement strategies to help students build social-emotional skills, manage challenging behaviors, and engage with their education in a meaningful way.

• Engage in Continuous Learning:
  Participate in professional development and stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in special education to improve instructional strategies.

Qualifications:

• Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Certification in Ohio (or eligibility to obtain certification)
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Special Education
  • Strong knowledge of IEP processes and special education laws

• Experience:

  • Previous experience working with students who have special needs is preferred but not required. A passion for teaching and student success is essential.
