Occupational Therapist - Wheeling, IL

Position Overview:
Blazer Jobs is actively seeking experienced Occupational Therapists for full-time roles with school districts in the Wheeling, IL area. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are passionate about helping students develop the skills they need to succeed in their academic and daily lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments to determine students' functional abilities and areas of need.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living.
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students with diverse needs, including physical, developmental, and cognitive challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to integrate therapy goals into students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Monitor students' progress and adjust therapy interventions as needed, documenting all services provided.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of students' educational plans.
  • Provide training and support to teachers and parents on strategies to promote students' independence and success.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Illinois.
  • Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in a school setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of local and state special education regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
