Responsibilities

As a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), your key responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing treatment plans designed by a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
  • Providing direct therapy services to students in individual or group settings.
  • Assisting in screening and assessments as directed by the supervising SLP.
  • Documenting student progress and preparing reports for the supervising SLP.
  • Supporting classroom staff with strategies to enhance student communication.
  • Ensuring compliance with school policies and state regulations.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following local and state requirements:

  • Valid certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
  • Massachusetts licensure to practice as an SLPA.
  • Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting (preferred).
  • Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
