Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) for a full-time role with school districts in the Yuma, AZ area. If you are committed to supporting students' success and meet the following qualifications, we encourage you to apply.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Licensure: Current Arizona state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Certification: Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as a COTA, preferably in a school setting.
  • Clearance: Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary clearances required by the state and school district.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Occupational Therapists in conducting assessments to evaluate students' needs.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students to enhance their physical, cognitive, and social skills.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other educational staff to support students' educational goals.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of students' goals and progress reports.
  • Educate school staff and parents on strategies to support students' occupational therapy needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions and student progress.
