Special Education Teacher - Birmingham, AL (Immediate Start)

We are seeking dedicated and passionate Special Education Teachers to join us in Birmingham, AL, for an immediate start, continuing through May 23, 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide essential support to students across elementary, middle, and high school levels.

• Birmingham, AL 35209

Discipline:

• Special Education Teachers (SPED)

Dates:

• ASAP - May 23, 2025

Hours:

• 37.5 hours per week

Caseload/Details:

• Age groups: Elementary, Middle, and High School.
• Primarily self-contained classroom positions.
• Multiple positions available.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
• Provide direct instruction and support in a self-contained classroom setting.  
• Adapt and modify curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and parents.
• Maintain accurate and timely student records.
• Create a positive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid Alabama Special Education teaching certification.
• Experience working with students with disabilities.
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.  

Compensation:

• Hourly pay range $25-$40 per hour. The actual rate will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and the specific school district's pay scale.
