We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our team in Birmingham, AL. Help students with hearing impairments achieve academic success in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments.
- Use specialized communication techniques, including American Sign Language (ASL), to instruct students.
- Collaborate with audiologists, speech pathologists, and other specialists.
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
Qualifications:
- DHH Certification in Alabama.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred.
- 1+ years of experience teaching deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
- Knowledge of hearing aid technology and cochlear implants.
