Your Role as a Special Education Teacher in Denver, CO

In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of providing individualized support to students with special needs, helping them achieve their fullest potential. As a Special Education Teacher in Denver, you’ll work closely with a team of educators, school counselors, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that foster academic and social growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Tailored IEPs: Create, implement, and adjust individualized education plans that meet the specific needs of each student. Regularly assess their progress and modify instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Foster an Inclusive and Positive Classroom: Build a supportive classroom culture where every student feels valued, respected, and encouraged. Use differentiated teaching techniques to meet a wide range of learning needs.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with families, school staff, and specialists to ensure holistic support for each student. Maintain effective communication regarding academic, behavioral, and social progress.
  • Support Emotional and Social Development: Integrate social-emotional learning techniques to help students build resilience, improve communication skills, and gain confidence in their abilities.
  • Pursue Continuous Growth: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in special education.

What We’re Looking For:

We are seeking a Special Education Teacher who:

  • Holds or is eligible for Special Education certification in Colorado.
  • Has a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Special Education or a related field.
  • Has experience in creating and executing IEPs and is knowledgeable about special education laws and best practices.
  • Demonstrates a passion for working with students with special needs and a commitment to their success.
  • Is a strong communicator and collaborator, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Believes in the power of inclusive education and creating a nurturing environment where all students can succeed.
