Job Overview:
BlazerJobs is seeking a passionate Early Childhood Special Education Teacher to join a dedicated team in Commerce City, CO for the 2025/2026 school year. This full-time position requires a teacher to work with 8-12 students in an early childhood setting, focusing on young learners with developmental delays or disabilities. The ideal candidate will have an Early Childhood Educator license or an Early Childhood Special Education teaching license.
You will be responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students in both AM and PM sessions while working closely with families, specialists, and other staff to help students develop the skills needed to succeed in their academic and social environments.
Caseload/Details:
- Caseload size: 8-12 students
- Focus on early childhood special education
- Provide individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations for students
- Collaborate with parents, specialists, and school staff to meet students' needs
- Work with students with various developmental needs, including autism, speech delays, and other developmental disabilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans and activities tailored to students’ needs
- Manage classroom behavior and provide a positive, structured learning environment
- Track student progress and modify teaching strategies as necessary
- Collaborate with a team of professionals, including specialists, parents, and school staff
- Participate in meetings to review student IEPs and update goals
- Foster social and emotional development in students
- Provide family engagement and support
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and other documentation
Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Educator license or Early Childhood Special Education Teacher certification required
- Prior experience working with early childhood students with disabilities preferred
- Knowledge of IEPs, behavior management strategies, and differentiated instruction
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with families and school staff
- Passion for working with young children with developmental needs and disabilities
- Ability to manage a small caseload and individualize instruction
