Responsibilities
- Assess and analyze student needs to develop tailored educational strategies.
- Design and execute individualized education programs (IEPs) to foster student growth.
- Provide inclusive instruction in self-contained classrooms, focusing on academic, social, and developmental skills.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to ensure consistent, quality support.
- Help students build confidence and prepare for future transitions.
Details & Requirements
- Primarily elementary needs, split between K-2 and 3-5 bands.
- Mostly self-contained Developmentally Delayed (DD) or Intellectually Delayed (ID) caseloads.
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field required.
- Valid Alabama Special Education Teaching Certification (or eligibility to obtain) is mandatory.
- Strong organizational and instructional skills are essential.
