Full-Time Elementary Resource Special Ed Teacher

School Year: 2024-2025

Position: Elementary Resource Special Ed Teacher (Full-Time)

Hours: Varied based on the school

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Resource Special Ed Teacher to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year in Phoenix, AZ. This is a full-time position with hours that vary based on the school. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting and enhancing the educational experience of students with special needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
  • Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students in a positive environment.
  • Assess students' skills to determine their needs and develop teaching plans.
  • Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, etc.) to teach children.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators to develop, evaluate, and revise individualized educational plans for students.
  • Monitor children s behavioral patterns and arrange appropriate interventions if necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records and prepare reports on children and activities as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Special Education or related field (Master s degree preferred).
  • Valid Arizona Special Education teaching certification.
  • Previous experience in special education teaching, preferably at the elementary level.
  • Strong understanding of child development and educational psychology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to students needs.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for teaching and helping students achieve their potential.
