Elementary (SPED) Special Education Teacher - Full-time

Illinois requires Special Education Teachers to hold a Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 Endorsement. A Bachelor’s degree in Special Education is required, and candidates must pass the Illinois Licensure Testing System (ILTS) Special Education Exam.


As an Elementary SPED Teacher in Dixon, IL, you will support students with Emotional Disabilities (ED), Other Health Impairments (OHI), developmental delays, and Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD). Dixon schools are committed to equity and individualized learning experiences that cater to each student’s unique needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design IEPs tailored to student needs.
  • Provide small-group and one-on-one instruction.
