We are looking for a skilled and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join a school district in Oakland, CA, for a full-time role with 32.5 hours per week. The position will focus on providing support to a caseload of elementary students with speech and language impairments. As an SLPA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to assist in therapy, assessments, and individualized student support.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the SLP in delivering direct speech and language therapy services.
- Conduct speech screenings and assessments under the supervision of the SLP.
- Implement therapy plans and monitor student progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure appropriate modifications and accommodations are implemented.
- Support students with individual goals and provide feedback to the supervising SLP regarding their progress.
Qualifications:
- Active California Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) license.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students.
- Knowledge of speech and language disorders and treatment methods.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work independently while being supervised by a licensed SLP.
