Blazerworks, in partnership with the local schools in Rosemount, IL, is currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in promoting students' independence and enhancing their ability to participate in educational activities. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' sensory, motor, and cognitive abilities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings.
  • Utilize therapeutic techniques and interventions to improve students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care abilities, and participation in the school environment.
  • Adapt and modify classroom activities and equipment to meet students' unique needs.
  • Conduct assistive technology evaluations and provide recommendations for appropriate devices and tools.
  • Collaborate with the school staff to develop and implement strategies for promoting students' independence and participation in academic and social activities.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Illinois.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of sensory integration techniques, fine motor development, and adaptive equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines governing occupational therapy.
