  • Assist classroom teachers in implementing instructional activities and providing support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities, English language learners, and students requiring additional academic or behavioral support
  • Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students during instructional activities, guided practice, independent work, and assessments, as directed by the classroom teacher
  • Support students with personal care tasks, mobility assistance, and other activities of daily living, as needed, to ensure their safety, well-being, and full participation in the school community
  • Reinforce positive behavior expectations and help students develop social skills, self-regulation strategies, and problem-solving techniques to promote positive peer interactions and classroom engagement
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other school personnel to implement individualized education plans (IEPs), behavior intervention plans (BIPs), and other support plans for students with disabilities and special needs
  • Assist with classroom organization, materials preparation, equipment setup, and other logistical tasks to facilitate efficient and effective instruction and student learning
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines in all interactions with students, families, and colleagues


  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Previous experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or childcare setting preferred
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of effective classroom management, behavior support, and student engagement strategies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, follow directions, and respond appropriately to student needs
  • Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in education and supporting the success of all students
