Full-Time Paraprofessional - High School Autism Support | near Dalton, GA

Location: Rossville, GA (40 minute drive from Dalton, GA)
Dates: ASAP – May 23rd, 2025
Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)

Caseload:

• First two blocks: 1:1 support with a GenEd high school student with autism.
• Next two blocks: Aid in the High School Community-Based Function Curriculum classes, alternating between two classes (about 10 students each) and assisting the teachers.

Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated full-time Paraprofessional to join our team in Rossville, 40 minutes from Dalton. In this role, you will support a high school student with autism during the first part of the day, providing assistance as needed. You will then transition to a team player, supporting two teachers in the High School Community-Based Function Curriculum classes.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in schools, and though school experience is preferred, we will also consider candidates who are willing to obtain the necessary Georgia Para certification. Fingerprinting is also required for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to a GenEd high school student with autism, assisting with tasks as needed.
• Assist in Community-Based Function Curriculum classes, supporting two teachers with a group of approximately 10 students.
• Help with classroom management, providing support to students with various needs.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment that supports student learning and social development.

Requirements:

• Willingness to obtain a GaPSC Para Certification.
• School experience is preferred, but not required.
• Fingerprinting is required.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and staff.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Hourly Rate: $20+ (based on certification, experience, and education)
