Full Time Paraprofessional | K-8 | Durham, NC

We are hiring multiple paraprofessionals to join our K-8 team in Durham, NC! Our paras will be assisting our special education classrooms in 1:1 and classroom support based roles. If you are interested, please read the description below and apply.

Location: Durham, NC
Duration: ASAP - June 2025
Full Time: 35 hours a week
Caseload: 1:1 with a K-8 student

Job Duties

• Assist in the instruction of students by providing support and practical training to students in various subject matters
• Provide assistance to the teacher by performing such duties as:
• Implementing instructional plans and assisting with the adaptation/modification of the curriculum as directed by the teacher
• Redirecting inappropriate behaviors of students in classrooms
• Preparing food for and/or feeding students
• Assisting in the physical movement of students
• Diapering and toileting students if needed
• Supervising students during bus loading and unloading
• Promote a safe and productive learning environment for students, ensuring that student needs are met by communicating with other staff about student needs
• Monitor and document the educational progress of students by performing evaluations of student progress and needs
• Record data pertaining to Individual Educational Plans (IEPs)

Requirements:

• Official transcripts with a minimum of 48 semester hours of college level education, or
• Associate's degree or higher, or 
• ACT WorkKeys with the following passing scores:
  • Applied Math - Passing score of 4 
  • Workplace Documents - passing score of 4
  • Business Writing - passing score of 3 or Graphic Literacy - passing score of 4
• Experience working with school aged children preferred
• Experience working with special education students preferred

Hourly Pay: $22-25+ depending on experience; benefits are offered but optional
