Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)

Caseload:

  • Work in a Pre-K Special Education classroom with children ages 3-6, including both morning (7:30-10:30) and afternoon (10:30-1:30) sessions.
  • Support children with varying levels of need, including non-verbal students, those requiring toileting training, and students with significant behavioral challenges.
  • Assist with preparing the classroom for the following day after the students leave at 1:30.

Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Paraprofessional to join our Pre-K Special Education classroom in Chickamauga, GA. In this role, you will assist students with special needs, helping them navigate their school day and supporting teachers in creating an inclusive learning environment. You will play a vital part in fostering a supportive atmosphere for young children with varying needs, including those with significant behavioral challenges.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of students and their educational development. The ideal candidate will have school experience, though we will also consider individuals who are willing to obtain the necessary Georgia Para certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with special needs in a Pre-K classroom, helping with tasks such as toileting, communication, and social interaction.
  • Provide support to students with significant behaviors, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help teachers with classroom preparation and other tasks after the students leave for the day.
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere for students and staff alike.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to obtain a GaPSC Para Certification.
  • School experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Fingerprinting is required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a passion for working with young children.

Hourly Rate: $20+ (based on certification, experience, and education)
