Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the following local and state requirements to apply:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in psychology, special education, or related field is preferred.
- Certification: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required or eligibility to obtain it.
- Experience: Previous experience working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities in an educational or clinical setting is preferred.
- Background Check: Must pass both state and local background checks.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively with other school professionals and families.
Responsibilities:
As a Behavior Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs) under the supervision of a BCBA or other licensed professionals.
- Collecting data on student progress and behavior.
- Supporting students in one-on-one or small group settings, promoting social skills, and helping with academic tasks.
- Assisting in the development of individualized strategies to address behavioral concerns.
- Providing ongoing feedback and communication to teachers, administrators, and parents regarding student progress.
- Ensuring that interventions align with best practices and ethical standards in behavior analysis.
