Behavior Technician - Full-Time Opportunity in Santa Fe, NM

Job Details:

Qualifications:

Applicants must meet the following local and state requirements to apply:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in psychology, special education, or related field is preferred.
  • Certification: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required or eligibility to obtain it.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities in an educational or clinical setting is preferred.
  • Background Check: Must pass both state and local background checks.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively with other school professionals and families.

Responsibilities:

As a Behavior Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs) under the supervision of a BCBA or other licensed professionals.
  • Collecting data on student progress and behavior.
  • Supporting students in one-on-one or small group settings, promoting social skills, and helping with academic tasks.
  • Assisting in the development of individualized strategies to address behavioral concerns.
  • Providing ongoing feedback and communication to teachers, administrators, and parents regarding student progress.
  • Ensuring that interventions align with best practices and ethical standards in behavior analysis.
