Full-Time School Occupational Therapist (OT) Job

Blazer Jobs is actively seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for a full-time contract role in a school-based setting in Kent, WA. Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct evaluations to assess students' occupational therapy needs and determine goals for services.
• Provide direct therapy services to students, addressing fine motor, sensory processing, self-regulation, and other functional skills.
• Collaborate with educational teams, including teachers, parents, and other therapists, to create and implement effective IEPs (Individualized Education Programs).
• Monitor progress and modify therapy plans as needed to ensure student success and achieve therapy goals.
• Assist students in improving their daily living skills, sensory integration, and emotional regulation.
• Train staff and caregivers on strategies and tools to support students' occupational therapy needs.
• Complete documentation in accordance with district policies and state regulations.
• Attend meetings with parents and staff to review student progress and discuss future needs.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid Occupational Therapist license as required by Washington state regulations.
• Experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IEP development and the special education process.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a school setting.
