Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid Occupational Therapist license issued by the South Carolina Board of Medicine
  • Completion of a graduate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
  • Passing scores on the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) examination

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students' physical, sensory, and cognitive abilities
  • Develop individualized treatment plans to address students' occupational therapy needs
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, including interventions to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into students' educational plans
  • Monitor students' progress and adjust therapy plans as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions and student progress
  • Participate in school meetings, including Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, to provide input on students' therapy needs
