Job Description: As a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist with Blazer Jobs, you will work within a school district setting to assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders in students. The ideal candidate will have experience working with special education students and families, possessing a deep understanding of their unique needs and challenges. This role requires adherence to local and state regulations governing speech-language pathology practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to diagnose communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to meet each student's needs.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language impairments.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to support students' academic and social-emotional development.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, goals, and treatment plans.
  • Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings to contribute expertise and recommendations.
  • Provide education and training to parents and caregivers on strategies for supporting speech and language development at home.
  • Stay informed about advances in the field of speech-language pathology and integrate evidence-based practices into clinical work.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Ohio.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
  • Experience working with special education students and families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping.
