Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) for a full-time role with school districts in Blue Island, Illinois. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to students’ communication development and academic success in a collaborative school setting.

Responsibilities

As a School Speech-Language Pathologist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments and evaluations to identify students with speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students requiring speech and language support.
  • Providing therapy services, including individual and group sessions, to address speech and language challenges.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to support student success.
  • Monitoring and documenting student progress and adjusting interventions as necessary.
  • Educating students, staff, and families about communication disorders and strategies to support development.
  • Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations related to special education services.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following local and state requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • Current and valid Illinois state licensure as an SLP.
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Speech-Language Pathology endorsement.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA (preferred).
  • Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
