Full-Time SPED Self-Contained Teacher

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education (SPED) Self-Contained Teacher for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year in Zion, IL. As a SPED Self-Contained Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing a supportive and inclusive educational environment for students with special needs. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives by fostering their academic, social, and emotional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Create a safe and nurturing classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
  • Adapt and modify curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure student success.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular updates and feedback.
  • Utilize various teaching strategies and techniques to support student learning.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and IEP goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid Illinois teaching certification with a Special Education endorsement.
  • Experience working with students with special needs preferred.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
