Blazerworks, in partnership with a school district in Tonopah, AZ, is seeking a dedicated and qualified Speech Language Pathologist Assistant for a full-time position during the 2023-2024 school year. As a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant, you will work closely with licensed Speech Language Pathologists to provide support and assistance in helping students improve their communication skills. Responsibilities:

  • Assist licensed Speech Language Pathologists in implementing individualized treatment plans for students with communication disorders.
  • Provide direct support to students during therapy sessions, targeting areas such as articulation, language comprehension, social communication skills, and fluency.
  • Collaborate with licensed Speech Language Pathologists, teachers, and other professionals to support students' communication development in the classroom and home environments.
  • Assist in conducting evaluations and assessments of students' communication abilities.
  • Support the implementation of strategies and accommodations recommended by the licensed Speech Language Pathologists.
  • Help maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress and therapy sessions.
  • Provide supervision and support to students during therapy activities.
  • Collaborate with parents and caregivers to reinforce therapy goals and techniques at home.
  • Stay informed about best practices and current research in the field of speech language pathology.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field.
  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist Assistant license or certification in Arizona.
  • Previous experience working as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant is preferred.
  • Knowledge of assessment tools and intervention techniques for speech and language disorders.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills to assist with caseload management and documentation.

Start/End Date: August 2023 - May/June 2024

Hours: Full-time, hours may vary based on the school schedule.
