Special Education Teacher

Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join a reputable school district. This full-time contract position offers a chance to make a significant impact on the lives of students with special needs.

Position Overview:

• Location: New Orleans, LA
• Job Type: Full-time contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
• Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet students' unique requirements.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a comprehensive approach to student success.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid state certification in Special Education.
• Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a school setting.
• Would prefer a license in SLD or EBD.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Professional references required.
