Blazer Jobs is seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time position with school districts in the Union, ME area. Job Responsibilities:
As a Special Education Teacher, you will:
- Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction in both inclusive and specialized settings.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed to ensure academic success.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to create a cohesive support system.
- Manage classroom behaviors effectively to promote a positive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
- Provide guidance and support to help students develop social, emotional, and life skills.
Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following local and state requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field (required).
- Valid Maine teaching certification with Special Education endorsement (required).
- Previous experience working with students with special needs (preferred).
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to complete a background check and fingerprinting as mandated by the district.
