We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Watkins, CO. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position, and we are interviewing and hiring immediately. Job Details:

  • Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
  • Start Date: Immediate
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Caseload: Special Education students across multiple grade levels
  • Duties: Provide direct services to students with disabilities, develop and implement IEPs, and collaborate with the general education team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with a variety of disabilities, including learning disabilities, developmental delays, and emotional disturbances
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and other staff to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented effectively
  • Monitor student progress, adjusting strategies and goals as necessary to meet students’ needs
  • Participate in IEP meetings and communicate with families regarding student progress, goals, and services
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported
  • Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress, and assessments
  • Provide training and support to paraprofessionals and other support staff working with students
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in special education and participate in professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education (or a related field)
  • Current Colorado state certification as a Special Education Teacher (or eligibility for certification)
  • Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, educational strategies, and special education law
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
  • Compassion, patience, and a dedication to student success
