Full Time SPED Position Open in Killingly, CT

Blazer Jobs, in association with the school district of Killingly, CT, is actively searching for a compassionate and dedicated Special Education (SPED) Teacher. This role involves working closely with students with diverse needs to help them achieve their full academic potential while addressing their individualized educational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, parents, and other school staff to provide integrated services to students.
• Employ various teaching methodologies and differentiated instruction tailored to individual student needs.
• Maintain up-to-date records of student progress, goals, and achievements.
• Continuously assess and evaluate student performance and modify teaching strategies as required.
• Advocate for students with special needs and ensure they have access to necessary resources within the school environment.
• Attend and participate in regular professional development workshops, training sessions, and SPED department meetings.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; Master s degree preferred.
• Valid SPED teaching certification for the state of Connecticut.
• Prior experience in a similar role or educational setting is preferred.
• Strong understanding of diverse learning needs and individualized instruction.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
