Blazer Jobs is actively seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team in Austin, Texas. As a full-time Special Education Teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with special needs in a school-based setting.

Requirements:

  • Valid Texas teaching certification in Special Education
  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Special Education or related field
  • Compliance with all local and state regulations for practicing as a Special Education Teacher
  • Experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with other educators, support staff, students, and families
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, ensuring that goals and objectives are aligned with their unique needs and abilities
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, employing evidence-based teaching strategies and accommodations as needed
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to facilitate the successful inclusion of students with disabilities in the general education curriculum
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies and interventions accordingly
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, concerns, and upcoming IEP meetings
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, behavior, and academic performance
  • Participate actively in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and other school-based activities as required
  • Advocate for the educational rights and needs of students with disabilities within the school and community
  • Stay informed about current research, best practices, and legal requirements in the field of special education
