Position Overview:

Blazerworks is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team in Winchester, VA. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for students with disabilities. You will work closely with students, parents, and other educators to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide the support necessary for students to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Create and adapt instructional materials to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Provide direct instruction to students in various subjects and life skills.
• Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
• Collaborate with parents, school staff, and other specialists to support students' academic and social development.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of student progress and IEP goals.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and success.
• Attend and actively participate in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Valid Virginia teaching license with Special Education endorsement.
• Previous experience working with students with disabilities is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Dedication to providing high-quality education and support to students with special needs.
