Position Overview: As a Special Education (SPED) Teacher in the Hopkinton School District, you will play a vital role in empowering students with diverse learning needs to achieve their full potential. You will work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff to create inclusive learning environments and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) that address each student's unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to provide a comprehensive and inclusive education experience.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes inclusivity and respect.
  • Attend meetings with parents, administrators, and other stakeholders to discuss student progress and IEP goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid Massachusetts teaching license in Special Education.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students with diverse learning needs.
