Caseload Information:
- Full Time and Part Time: 15-30 hours
- K-12th Grade students
- Some homebound
Job Details:
- Design and implement tailored instructional plans and materials for students with visual impairments.
- Provide direct teaching and support to visually impaired students, both individually and in small groups.
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional methods to address their evolving needs.
- Work closely with classroom teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Recommend and incorporate assistive technologies and adaptive strategies to enhance learning..
Requirements:
- MUST HAVE Education Specialist with Visual Impairments (VI) endorsement
- Master’s level degree in Education for Visually Impaired Students
- MUST possess a valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification or licensure in Georgia.
- Prior experience working with visually impaired students.
- Braille: letters, symbols and numbers
- Skilled in specialized instructional strategies and assistive technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with students, families, and school staff.
- Strong capacity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
