We are seeking a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter to join our team!
Location: Beaufort, South Carolina
Position: Full-Time Onsite Sign Language Interpreter
Hours: Full-time at 37.5
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' needs and ensure a cohesive approach to their overall well-being.
- Observe: Note problems and progress for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Interpret: Translate spoken words into sign language and vice versa
- Liaison: Connect deaf or hard of hearing people with hearing people
- Assess: Evaluate a student's communication skills
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the culture of Deaf people
- Strong English vocabulary, grammar, and spelling
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and fingerspelling
