Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Homer Glen, IL. This role involves working with students with diverse learning needs, developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) to help each student achieve their academic and social goals. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be a key advocate for students, providing differentiated instruction and collaborating with families and school staff to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique needs and learning objectives.
• Provide engaging and differentiated instruction to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
• Assess students’ progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies to meet their evolving needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to foster a cohesive and supportive learning experience.
• Implement behavioral intervention strategies and support students in developing self-regulation and social skills.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of student performance and IEP compliance.
• Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education Endorsement.
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction, behavior management, and IEP development.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
