BlazerJobs is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) for an itinerant school-based position in Maywood, IL. The selected candidate will work with students across multiple schools, supporting their functional needs in various classroom environments. Position Details:

  • Location: Maywood, IL
  • Position Type: Full-Time, Contract
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: End of the 2024/2025 School Year
  • Hours: Monday through Friday, 32.5 hours/week (8:00 AM – 3:00 PM, minus lunch)
  • Student Population: Elementary and Middle School

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy services to students, including evaluation, assessment, and therapy intervention
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to help students improve motor, sensory, and functional skills
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to ensure students’ therapeutic needs are being met
  • Work with students individually or in small groups, providing therapy to address fine motor skills, sensory processing, and other functional challenges
  • Assist in the development of IEPs and contribute to IEP meetings as needed
  • Monitor student progress and make adjustments to therapy plans as necessary
  • Provide strategies and recommendations for classroom modifications to support students' needs
  • Document student progress and therapy services provided
  • Participate in school meetings and contribute to the overall success of the students

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy (required)
  • Current Illinois OT License (required)
  • Experience working in a school setting or with children is preferred
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers and parents
  • Ability to create and implement individualized therapy plans
  • Passion for working with students and supporting their development in a school environment
