Blazer Jobs is actively seeking experienced Special Education Teachers for a full-time position with a school district in Kansas City, KS. This role is specifically focused on providing resource support at the middle school level.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide direct instruction to students in a resource setting, addressing their specific academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and create an inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies and interventions as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and goals.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and IEP goals.
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and ongoing training.
Requirements:
- Valid Kansas State Teaching Certification in Special Education.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a special education setting, preferably at the middle school level.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators, support staff, and families.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
