Job Title: Full-Time/Full School Year (FT/FSY) Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Position Details:

  • Employment Type: Full-Time/Full School Year (FT/FSY)
  • Caseload: Typically 40-55 students
  • Student Population: Primarily students with moderate to severe disabilities, ages 4-18.
  • Travel: Candidate will be required to travel to multiple school locations within the district.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist (OTR).
  • Provide direct and indirect therapy services to students in various school settings.
  • Assist students in developing and improving fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory processing, and self-help skills.
  • Adapt activities and environments to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy services.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team.
  • Follow all ethical and professional standards of practice.

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid CA COTA license.
  • Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
  • Experience: 2 years of experience working with children with disabilities ages 4-18 in an occupational therapy or educational setting is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of pediatric occupational therapy principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
