We are partnering with a local school district in Las Vegas, NM seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher to join their academic team for the 2023-2024 school year. This school district is in the vibrant community of Las Vegas, NM, and they pride themselves in fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.

Position Overview:
As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and effective learning environment for students with diverse learning needs. You will work closely with students, parents, and other educators to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that support each student's unique strengths and challenges.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective, individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in both small group and one-on-one settings.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and achievements.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and other school-related activities.

Qualifications:
- Active New Mexico Special Education teaching license.
- Active New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
