To work as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Minnesota, candidates must have a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, an active Minnesota Department of Health SLP license, and ASHA’s Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) is preferred. School-based SLPs must also hold a Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) certification.

Job Description:

  • Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in K-12 students.
  • Develop individualized therapy plans and interventions.
  • Work closely with educators, parents, and support staff to provide comprehensive student support.
  • Conduct IEP meetings and contribute to student learning plans.
  • Provide speech therapy in both group and one-on-one settings.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and district guidelines.

Experience and Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Minnesota SLP license and PELSB certification.
  • ASHA CCC preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with school-aged children.
  • Strong understanding of IEP processes and speech therapy interventions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
