Position Type: Full-Time, Onsite, Contract

A local school district in the Kansas City, KS area is urgently looking to expand their team by hiring on an experienced, passionate, and licensed Special Education (SPED) teacher to work with their early childhood preschool students for the remainder of the 2023 2024 school year.

Job Duties: The hired SPED will also be asked to develop/implement professional development training and make sound recommendations relative to personnel placement, transfer, retention and dismissal.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Active Kansas Teacher Certificate with endorsement or specialization in Special Education
• Proven experience working with students with diverse learning needs in an inclusion or self-contained classroom setting.
• Strong understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), behavior management techniques, and instructional accommodations
• Knowledge of various instructional strategies and methodologies for students with disabilities
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of students with special needs

Schedule:

• Fulltime 30 to 35 hours per week minimum guaranteed, Mon-Fri; 11:30 AM - 3:30 PM
• No overtime required
• Off on holidays and school breaks
